An annual holiday tradition, the exhibition One and Only: Gifts Made by Hand brings you an exceptional selection of jewelry, glass, ceramics, paintings, photographs, fiber and wood works by 60 artists from across the nation. This year, give the holiday gift of original works of art.
There is no admission fee to view One and Only, and all works in the exhibition are available for purchase. Arts Center members receive a 10% discount on all merchandise purchases. As always, proceeds from sales at ARTspace support the Arts Center in its educational mission.

Contemporary Scrimshaw with Michael Dinges
Saturday, January 17 and Sunday, January 18, 2009, 10am-4pm
Join Michael Dinges (IL), sculptor and former artist-in-residence in the Arts/Industry program, for this extraordinary opportunity to learn contemporary scrimshaw at John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan. Historically, scrimshaw is the sailor’s art of engraving on the teeth or bones of whales. Dinges’ work updates the practice with contemporary materials and tools. Each participant is encouraged to bring in common plastic items, new or used, on which to engrave images. All tools will be provided. No previous experience is required.
